What People Don't Get About Trump

Sam Herriage

This interesting piece written by Benjy Sarlin was written about the Republican Party and how the party could be in the process of imploding. Things are really getting nasty as these debates are proving. Mr. Sarlin talks about how Rubio calls out Trump about his bladder and brings out immature jokes about Trump. Then his article goes to Mayor Chris Christie supporting Trump instead of Rubio saying, “America must have a strong leader again that can restore American jobs that can restore American confidence”.

In my review of this article, I feel that the author is missing exactly what some in the country are missing; Donald Trump is destroying all the other candidates because he is connecting with people at a very base level. Trump seems to understand, at a very deep level, the raw anger that so many people feel right now. The financial crisis and great recession may have started in 2008, or a full eight years ago, but in my opinion the United States really never left the recession.

My dad is a financial journalist with thousands of clients all over the country and we talk about the issues that people are still facing everyday. The truth is that the average person is three months away from losing their job and then having to file bankruptcy. We seem to have a financial system built on quick sand.

This is what the author is missing and what all of his readers are as well. The country is mad as hell and soon-to-be President Trump gets that.
